Job Description:

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Laboratory Technician to support the development and delivery of our preclinical immunotherapy research services. This is a hands-on, lab-based position ideally suited to someone with experience in cell culture and wet lab techniques, who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment and enjoys working in a small, tightly knit team.

You will play a key role in the daily operations of the lab and be actively involved in running experiments, maintaining cell lines, and supporting the Chief Scientific Officer as we develop our platform and research services. You will work in our laboratory based in White City, London, with the nearest tube station being White City on the Central line. The position is fixed-term, running from July to December 2025, with a potential possibility for extension. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with an exciting platform technology and contribute to impactful research that will have real-world therapeutic impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine mammalian cell culture, media preparation, and cell-based assays

  • Assist in setting up and running experiments on our microfluidic platform

  • Support sample preparation, staining, and imaging (e.g. fluorescence microscopy)

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and follow standard operating procedures

  • Contribute to day-to-day lab operations, including equipment maintenance and inventory management

  • Collaborate closely with scientists and engineers to troubleshoot and optimise protocols

  • Help implement quality control and data management processes as we scale

  • Analyse, visualise, and present data sets generated from wet lab experiments
  • Support the leadership team at external-facing events such as conferences, workshops, or demonstrations when required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant life sciences field (e.g. biology, biomedical science, bioengineering)

  • Practical experience with cell culture, cell-based assays and standard wet lab techniques

  • Experience in analysing, visualising, and presenting experimental data
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new techniques

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in working with microfluidics, microfabrication, or microscopy
  • Knowledge of fluorescence imaging techniques and/or cell-based assays, such as cytotoxicity and cytokine release assays
